I
have experienced as Broadcast Journalist in TV3 for Majalah
Tiga, to ensure the smooth run of the programme, the unit
usually meets every week to discuss the contents for a month
ahead. The job is very hectic and as a Broadcast Journalist,
you are to find a good story while at the same time you
have to direct the Cameraman for the best shorts and location.
The best experience I have ever had was my interview with
two Russian Cosmonauts.
In MetroVision, I assisted the General Manager of Programming
to acquire and schedule TV programmes from A to Z. To acquire
programmes, the team is bound to go to Hollywood to get
the contents from the major distributors such as Beuna International
Television (provides Disney shows), Warner Brothers (provides
sitcoms and dramas), Columbia Tristar International Television
(provides sitcoms and dramas too), Twentieth Century Fox
and also Paramount Pictures. Besides the major distributors,
we are also to deal with those moderate companies such as
Carsey-Werner Mandabach who produces and distributes TV
sitcoms such as That Õ70 Show. With the experience I gained
from the local TV companies, I applied it while I was in
Telekom Malaysia as they want to diversify their business
in multimedia industry.
